Turimetta Beach

It has been far too long since that last time I posted. I admit, I have been slack. But after venturing out to the Northern Beaches and getting a taste for it again. I think Ill be posting more often.

I had the great opportunity to head out with Jarrod Castaing on a one on one leason, we covered numerous topics; exposure, composition and some technical details.

It was great to have him around, helping me with see the world around me in a different light.

Let me know what you think.

Non event sunrise

Its has been a few weeks since I was able to pick up my trusty 7D and get shooting! I have missed it so much, even with the amount of camera and photo sharing apps available for smart phones, happy snapping on the way to work isn’t the same.

It was certainly a hot day on Saturday reaching mid the mid 30s, higher inland. What better way to start the weekend than watching the sunrise and escaping trying to escape the heat.

The only problem was Saturdays sunrise was a bit of a non event. Alot of cloud cover and no colour what so ever. Never the less, I had alot of fun and released that even as good as soft pillows and sleeping in sounds. Sometimes its worth dragging yourself out of bed.

Green Hills Storm Front

I tried so hard this afternoon to stop time, I left work and saw this storm from coming from the south, raced home, raced to the beach, all the while composing the shot in my head before I even reach my location. (I always find thinking about a shot before even arriving or checking it before I shot, makes all the difference in the end result) made it just in time for the last 20 minutes of the magic hour. The horizon is a bit blown out, but im happy to deal with that.

Cronulla Sunrise June 22nd 2012

I love spending mornings in bed and often miss the golden hour each day, but I managed to pull my self out of bed this morning and headed down to my local beach. Still chilly but there was a certain warmth in the air, perhaps it was the red sky warming me up. Such wonderful colours.

I think I might have to make a effort and make it a daily event now.

Como Subtle Sunset

Tuesday was certainly a crazy day day for weather, very foggy morning then blue skies which quickly turned a black greenish colour which poured heavily for an hour or so, then an amazing double rainbow.

We all remember this video about the double rainbow. Unfortunately I was unable to get out of the office and get a snap.

However I was able to get a sunset shot at Como. The clouds were far more east, but the colours were truly amazing!

Bare Island Sunset

FINALLY! A sunset worth waiting around for. I seemed that I would never see the sky again, entrapped in a think layer of fog and dark clouds, but Tuesday spoiled me!

Over looking Bare Island at La Perouse, right on sunset.
